Terry Helen

Terry has a long history in the music industry. He runs an Adelaide based independent label, Round Records. With over 50 releases to it's credit since 1989, the Round Records label has provided an outlet for a diverse range of music that may otherwise have gone unreleased, for artists such as:-
Tubby Justice, Catherine Lambert, Kym Purling Trio, James Muller, The Bedridden, Robyn Habel, Black Taxi, Paul Wookey, Sasha Galliver, Leslie Millar Quartet, Shamrock and Thistle, The Borderers, Gospel Noir, The Lost Dogs Show, The Scrub Hornets, Andy Sugg Quartets, Peter Ayliffe Trio, Mike Festa, Yasmin and the Tealeaves, The Barkers, and The Texettes.

Terry is co-compere of Adelaide based Three D radio's the Hillbilly Hoot. A self taught guitarist, Terry is an accomplished songwriter having won SAMIA songwriting production and performance awards, and a finalist of the Australian Aria awards for producer of best world music album.

He has been a member of various bands, July 14th, Those Kodiaks, The Every Brothers, The Barkers, The Borderers, The Holiday and The Texettes.

Helen started singing as a hobby in March 1999 when she came across Adelaide Community Radio Station Three D's weekly live to air programme, the Hillbilly Hoot. Eight years later, she is still singing with the Hooters and for the past 7 years with original music duo, the Texettes.

Helen has gained considerable performance experience since her debut on Three D's verandah, as a member of the Texettes 5 piece (April 1999 to December 2002), the Texette Trio (March 2003 to July 2004) and now the Texette duo which formed in March 2005 and the countless performances as part of the Hillbilly Hoot.

Helen has recorded with the Hilbilly Hoot 1999, 2001, 2004, 2005 "The Cowgirl Lounge" lead and backing vocals; 2001 Sasha Galliver "Angel Baby" album backing vocals; the Texettes "Sweetheart" album lead and backing vocals; 2003 "The Land That We Love" EP backing vocals; 2004 "Come Swim With Me" lead vocal; "You Can't Do That" backing vocal; "I Love Chocolate" backing vocal; lead and backing vocals with the Texettes duo's 2006 release, "Fearless" album.

Helen was the winner of the 2007 Frances Folk Gathering Intermediate Vocalist, after coming second in 2006 and third in 2005.
