WOO HOO - a poem for the Texettes from Maz

August 1st, 2008
Are we in Nashville, can we hear Roy- (Orbison that is)?
Or is it the pop strums of ELO that sounds like bliss?
No, it’s the vocals of Helen and Terry who are now very merry,
Their CD’s a hit and you have to admit -
What makes them great and the talk of the town?
Well now, that would be how well the CD launch went down
They can Pop, they can Twang, however they do it, it delights the gang
of faithful audience and reviewers to boot - that’s the Texettes, what a hoot!
This ‘enjoyable local delicacy’ certainly isn’t lost or blue
And together with Dixie are joyous in sharing their beautiful talent with you
Congratulations to the Texettes!

WOO HOO July 31st CD Review “The Advertiser”

July 31st, 2008

The Texettes Lost in Blue ***The Advertiser 31st July Music (scene) Reviewer: Sam Kelton

LOCAL country act the Texettes, on their fourth release, may have just hit upon the perfect balance of pop and twang. With a muster of different influences surfacing, such as the pop strums of the Electric Light Orchestra’s Jeff Lynne or the loving croon of Roy Orbison, the Texettes have put forward a well-produced and catchy record.

Terry Bradford and Helen Ellis’s intertwining vocals make for an enjoyable local delicacy, best enjoyed on a rainy weekend, taking the listener out of Adelaide to touch down in Nashville, where the heart of Lost in Blue lies.
